The ambulances were reportedly parked next to each other in the lot at the Stamford EMS Long Ridge Road headquarters.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated, but it allegedly involved a mechanical malfunction with one of the ambulances.
No injuries to Stamford EMS staff or others have been reported.
Stamford EMS representatives further state that this incident will not affect the availability or reliability of emergency ambulance services. Stamford EMS remains in operation with five ambulances out of its stations located throughout the Stamford area.
“Stamford EMS wishes to thank the Stamford Fire and Rescue Department for its prompt and professional response to this incident,” said Stamford EMS representatives in a press release, “as well as all the members of the community who have reached out to Stamford EMS to express their concern and support.”
